Why We Are

We are living in a time of profound evolution. What it means to be human is changing, and so is the world itself. With change comes the beauty of possibility and the weight of pressure. In this shift, the need for connection has never been greater. We need connection to self, to each other, and to something greater. We all need a place, a space to restore balance, open minds, uplift spirits, and learn new ways. A place where anything is possible.

Infinite Space NYC, is a home for exploration, experience, and learning. We believe experience is everything. Through movement, yoga, meditation, and reflection, practice becomes presence, and presence becomes transformation. We shift toward freedom, belonging, and deeper meaning. No searching, no pressure, just space to be, breathe, learn, grow, and be in community. Living fully, mind, body, and spirit, shouldn’t feel like work. It should feel like home.

Three people smiling indoors, two women and one man. The woman on the left wears black leggings and a long-sleeve top, the man in the center is in all white with a beanie, and the woman on the right wears a leopard print workout set. They are standing closely together, suggesting friendship or camaraderie.

“There are three ways to a beautiful life, as I see it: artistic achievement, family, and the spiritual path. Yoga is a science. It is also an art. It’s being creative. Using your creativity as a template and an outlet. The sound is an outlet of expression for the betterment of life’s meaning.  Here, I found family.  I interacted in something beyond the superficial. I found a depth of connection, beyond using. I got fed by the relationships, by the people that I met here. And I helped people in turn.

That’s why I am doing this. That’s why I love it. The place does a lot of good. The city would be worse off without it. I love that people are transformed without having to take a pill or a drink to do it. The high spiritual householder idea is very practical. It’s living a spiritually rich life while fully engaged in the world. In the midst of all this stress and nonsense in life, you find a way to access God, the transcendent, the many becoming one. It’s gym, therapy, and church all at the same time. Efficient.”

Teg Karamjot on the genesis of Infinite Space NYC

Infinite Space NYC is dedicated to fostering transformation through yoga, movement, discipline, health, community and devotion. It is a space where individuals cultivate and refine their practice, and engage deeply with their personal growth journey. By integrating structured yoga, breathwork, and creative expression, Infinite Space NYC offers an approach that nurtures the body, mind and the spirit.

Our mission is to create an environment where individuals can commit to their practice, find stability and happiness in their lives, and cultivate lasting well-being. Infinite Space NYC seeks to inspire and elevate everyone who walks through its doors.

The core of our practice is Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan®, a comprehensive practice combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises, and breathwork.  At Infinite Space NYC, we embrace this tradition as a gateway to self-creation, an unfolding of presence, devotion, and sacred practice. Beyond physical movement, it is a path of deep transformation, where discipline meets mystery, and individual evolution aligns with the collective journey.

Our space is home to a dynamic range of practices including yoga, dance, somatic movement, and other body-based healing arts that support the integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Infinite Space NYC is born out of and owes its very existence to Kundalini Yoga East, a beloved spiritual home founded in 1971 by Sat Jivan Kaur Khalsa and Sat Jivan Singh Khalsa. For over five decades, Sat Jivan Kaur and Sat Jivan Singh served New York City with profound devotion, dedication, determination and grit, sharing the sacred science of Kundalini Yoga with clarity, compassion, and grace. Their legacy has uplifted and transformed thousands of lives, and the space they held continues to ripple outward in ways that cannot be measured.

We honor them with deep and enduring gratitude, for all they have built, for the lives they have touched, and for the path they’ve made possible. Infinite Space NYC arises from this lineage: with reverence, with continuity, and with a prayer to carry the essence forward.

By the grace of God and Guru, and with the blessing of Sat Jivan Kaur, Sat Jivan Singh, and Simran Kaur and the vision and courage of Teg Karamjot Singh Infinite Space NYC emerges from this legacy as a living continuation of its spirit.
